I believe that the Early Childhood years are vital in promoting a young child’s development, and in forming the attitudes and skills that will serve them throughout life. With this in mind, I aim to provide an environment that is not only stimulating and challenging, but also provides a warm and supportive atmosphere in which children can grow and learn. I recognise the importance of ensuring that parents and I need to work together towards common goals, and that I value parents as an essential partner and important resource. I believe that each child is an individual, whose needs; interests and family values must be respected and developed. I believe that young children learn through play and that through supervised play with others of their own age, and with selected equipment in indoor and outdoor activities, the children will learn new skills, explore new interests and ideas, appreciate the difference and diversity of other people in our world, and develop the ability to solve problems and think creatively. I hope that by immersing the children in a curriculum based around the needs and interests of each child and planned to develop the whole child, I will enable the children to be self-directing and continuous learners who are well equipped to handle both themselves and society.

I aim to help the children acquire and maintain an appreciation for difference of ability and opinion, and diversity of culture and belief, in our society. I also aim to promote each child’s development of maturity and responsibility, and the development of initiative and self-control.I will provide a program based around the individual needs and interests of the children, and endeavour to stimulate each child’s desire for learning.
