Goals

SHORT TERM
Encourage children to make their own choices
   ie. choosing their own fruit
        Selecting a activity to do

Encourage independence
   ie. putting their own shoes on
        making their own bed after rest time
        to make their own choices

To encourage children to share amongst their peers and to take turns

To encourage the use of imagination and creativity

To encourage children to communicate amongst their peers verbally rather than non-verbally

To encourage positive interactions in both small and large groups

LONG TERM
To develop self help skills
   ie. Dressing them selves
        Toileting own self
        General hygiene

For children to be able to write and recognise their name

For children to be able to recognise colours

For children to be able to recognise and draw shapes

To encourage individuality

To encourage the use of Fine motor skills
   ie. scissor cutting
         manipulating blocks
         pincer grip

To encourage the use of Gross motor skills
   ie. climbing equipment
         obstacle course
         catching a ball

To encourage the use of cognitive (problem solving and thinking) skills

AIMS
To provide an anti bias approach

To acknowledge the uniqueness of each child

To encourage self esteem

To encourage children to be independent

To encourage each child's strengths

To provide a program that stimulates a child's curiosity and interest in        learning

To acknowledge multicultural diversity

To respect not only the child but also their family and their background

To respect family privacy rights

To develop a partnership between my self and families
